let's talk about mental health, IDENTITY & PURPOSE

This is ENCOURAGEMENT and TRUTH from the perspective of Identity, Purpose and Alignment with God.

There are people carrying feelings of depression, anxiety, hopelessness, loneliness, rejection, low self-worth, emotional instability, and even thoughts of suicide because life's circumstances convinced them they have no value, no direction, no purpose, or no place where they truly belong. 

And many times, the root issue is "IDENTITY".

When IDENTITY becomes attached to temporary things, emotions begin to rise and fall with those things. Let's call it the "Roller Coaster" syndrome.

If IDENTITY is rooted in:

• Accomplishments
• Money
• Relationships
• Attention
• Validation
• Opinions of others
• Approval from people
• Substances
• Addictions
• Status or position

...then emotional stability becomes fragile because all of those things are temporary.

They can ALL change overnight, and when the Identity attached to those things is shaken, people begin questioning:

• "Do I matter?"
• What is my purpose?"
• Why am I here?"

This is a dangerous "Roller Coaster" ride because the roots are surface level - not firmly planted.  So whenever the wind blows, whatever the emotional spectrum is, whatever the day's momentum is, whatever the social trend is, and whatever the desires and lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life are, whether you receive it or not, so goes the way of the daily Roller Coaster ride.

God never intended for your Worth and Identity to be rooted in temporary things.

Your Worth comes from Him.

Your Identity comes from Him.

Your Purpose comes form Him.

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

A $2 item not working creates disappointment.

A $200,000 item not functioning properly creates an even greater response because of the value attached to it.

Why? 

Because PURPOSE & FUNCTION matter.

When someone is disconnected from their God-Created PURPOSE, Identity becomes distorted. They being to find meaning in temporary things that were never designed to sustain them emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.

But, when you begin WALKING in the PURPOSE God Created YOU for, EVERYTHING changes.

• You stop searching for acceptance because God Already Accepted YOU.
• You stop depending completely on the opinions of people because Your Value is Rooted in God.

Walking in Purpose doesn't mean difficult emotions will never come. Because they do. But it does mean your FOUNDATION is no longer built on temporary things. 

And when your FOUNDATION is ROOTED in God and ALIGNED with His PURPOSE, hopelessness, depression, anxiety, low self-worth, low confidence, and other symptoms you may experience, no longer have the same entry point it may have once had, because your life now carries meaning, direction, assignment, and value beyond circumstances.

God has already met YOUR NEED for

• Love
• Acceptance
• Validation
• Identity
• Worth
• Purpose

The QUESTION now becomes: Will YOU seek those things from God, or will YOU seek those things in temporary places.

YOUR LIFE MATTERS. You were Created Intentionally. 

YOUR God-Created PURPOSE carries Value, Meaning, and Impact far beyond what you currently see.
